A Mum tries to come to terms with her smart, opinionated teenage son #over50 #blogger #australia #teenager @boneAndsilver
At Home last Weekend
Me: Can you wipe up please
AN HOUR LATER
Me: Sweetie, the wiping up needs doing
AN HOUR LATER
Me: Come on, I need you to wipe up and put away the dishes
AN HOUR LATER
Me: OK, I’m getting cranky now, I’ve got better things to do than nag you all weekend
AN HOUR LATER
Me: Put the washing up away, or there’ll be no dinner!

What kind of person does that?? #Australia #dishes #chores #teenager #OCD #over50blogger @boneAndsilver

Looks like he’s got a nasty case of TDES – Teenage Deaf-Ears Syndrome. π

Bless him- I think it’s intermittent isn’t it? He sure can hear me say when I’m going away for the weekend and the house will be empty…

I think this is sons the world over. I usually resort to pulling the plug on the wifi to get some movement out of him. He has gone travelling for three months and the house has never been tidier.

Lol, thanks for joining the gang of mothers whose sons ignore them! Mine’s a good fellow most of the time… except the wiping up (and the accurate dish stacking). I appreciate your comment, and yes, when my boy is at his Dad’s for the week, my place is spotless : )

Itβs good to know we are not alone with this selective hearing thing π

If it was me I’d just do it myself because I can’t be arsed with the reminders, nagging and eventual loss of temper! π

Yes, & half the time I probably do- but it’s not fair I cook, wash up, & then wipe up π
